Microsoft says Windows Phone Remote Desktop app will join iOS and Android counterparts
Yesterday, Microsoft released Remote Desktop apps for iOS and Android that let smartphone users control their Windows PCs on the go, but there was no Windows Phone version in sight. Fortunately, itâs something the company is working quickly to fix.According to The Next Web, a Microsoft spokesperson confirmed that a Remote Desktop app for Windows Phone was in the works, though thereâs no specific timeframe for that launch yet. âRemote desktop on phones is a relatively rare usage scenario,â the statement reads. âThat said, we are working on a version of the app for Windows Phone. Weâll be able to share timeframe at a later point in time.â Itâs still a little surprising to see Microsoftâs own OS play second fiddle to iOS and Android, but hopefully Windows Phone users wonât have to wait too long.
