Which 2013 smartphone is the best for gaming?
The latest iPhone is casing quite a stir, but then would you expect otherwise? In many ways the iPhone has been losing ground to the smarter Android Galaxy phones, and in particular to the Samsung galaxy S4 which boast a five inch display and a 1.6 GHz quad core processor. In fact it was beginning to look as if the iPhone was losing its way.
Whether you prefer playing downloadable app based games, big immersive console type games of playing online casino games such a blackjack for real money, there is no disputing that fact that a large display considerably enhances the gaming experience. So one might reasonably have predicted that Apple would follow the trend and bring out an iPhone with display of similar dimensions to the Samsung.
In fact the latest iPhone has failed to do this. Not only is the new display no larger than the previous model, in terms of resolution is falls well behind that of the Samsung. It might be a little brighter, but looking at it all round, that doesnât make it better.
What the iPhone 5S does have is a much faster processor. The new A7X chip is said to be twice as fast as the A6 chip used in the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5C. While this does little to enhance game play in casino type games and apps such as Angry Birds, it does offer a substantial improvement to big multiplayer type console games such as World of Warcraft.
It this enough? Probably not. Although one in three iPhone owners say that they intend to upgrade to the latest iPhone, it is unlikely than too many Galaxy 4 owners will do likewise. Until the iPhone 6 comes out in around a yearâs time the Samsung Galaxy S4 is still the best smartphone for gaming.
